Hellllooooo
I am being transferred to Puerto Plata!! Yayay I am going to the hottest part of the mission from one of the coolest. Yikes.
But on Sunday, we tried to bust our friend out of jail, and by that I mean we sat in the cement building on a bench for about an hour asking the police to ask him what we can do to help. It was exciting because everyone was very shocked to see a white girl there haha. We didn't bust him out of jail, but we pray that he can get out because he wants to be baptized. [Their friend was brought in for immigration and not for any crimes.]
But on a side note, I miss the English hymn "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." I think, I hope I am fact checked on this lol, that it was written by a guy and his wife and kid died on or around Christmas and he says that there is no hope or joy in the world. But then he learns about the gospel or something like that and finds out that he can see his family after death thanks to Jesus and he then has another change of heart and is like WOW there really is joy in Jesus. I think it's a great song lol. Go listen to it. ["On Friday, December 25, 1863, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow--a 57-year-old widowed father of six children, the oldest of which had been nearly paralyzed as his country fought a war against itself-—wrote a poem seeking to capture the dynamic and dissonance in his own heart and the world he observes around him that Christmas Day." Read more here. I like Bug's version better!]
We also see people riding horses in the streets and people leading horses along on motorcycles. I think it's great. haha
I love you all and hope that you have fun with the snow!
